"We develop students, in partnership with our community, to thrive in an ever changing world"

From the Desk of Mrs. Bickings

As we move into Thanksgiving break, I’m proud to share that our students continue to make strong progress toward their fluency goals. Across grade levels, teachers and students are working hard during small-group instruction, whole group instruction and daily reading routines. We’re seeing students gain confidence, read with greater accuracy, and develop the intrinsic motivation that helps them engage in a deeper manner with their reading.

We’re also excited to see how this literacy work is carrying over into other content areas. Students are applying their improved reading skills in science, social studies, and math—strengthening their comprehension, participating more confidently in class discussions, and demonstrating stronger problem-solving skills.

Our data check-ins this month show that many students have already met or exceeded their mid-year benchmarks, and others are right on track with the support plans their teachers have in place. We will continue to celebrate these gains while also keeping high expectations and consistent support in place for every learner.

Thank you for partnering with us by encouraging reading at home and supporting strong attendance. Together, we’re helping our students grow as readers and thinkers.

Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving break,

Kari Bickings

Thank You for a Spooktacular Halloween Parade!

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our amazing community and school organizations that helped make this year’s Halloween parade such a success. With roughly 50 groups participating, the parade was full of creativity, excitement, and school spirit. The students received so much candy during the parade that many joked they didn’t even need to go trick-or-treating afterward!

Events like this remind us how fortunate we are to have a community that supports our students and school with such enthusiasm.

Thank you for helping us create lasting memories for our students!

Beta Club Making a Difference

Our Beta Club members have been hard at work, showing dedication and care through several meaningful service projects. Recently, students helped pack food boxes to support families during Parent-Teacher Conference night, ensuring every family had resources they might need.

In addition, they sorted canned goods and other items for Thanksgiving baskets, helping to provide holiday meals to families in need. The students also rolled up their sleeves to clean and maintain the playground, making our school a more welcoming space for everyone.

We are proud of our Beta Club members for demonstrating leadership, responsibility, and compassion. Their efforts are a wonderful example of how students can make a positive impact in our school.

Honoring Our Veterans

This Veterans Day, we took a moment to honor and thank all those who have served our country. We were proud to welcome approximately 80 veterans and guests to our celebration.  Our students reflected on the bravery, dedication, and sacrifices of veterans, learning the importance of gratitude and respect for those who protect our freedoms.

We are grateful to our community members who have served and continue to serve.  Thank you for your commitment and courage.
